Financial assistance increased to $50,000 and announcement of 18 grants awarded
Back to the news listKéroul is extremely pleased with the Ministère du Tourisme’s announcement to increase financial assistance for projects under the Tourism Establishment Accessibility Program (PAET) 2017-2022. Tourism establishments will now be eligible for grants of up to $50,000. Since the program was launched in 2017, the maximum grant has been $20,000.
This increase means more tourism establishments will be able to upgrade their facilities to better meet the growing needs of clients with disabilities by earning Kéroul’s accessible rating or enhance what they currently offer in terms of accessibility. This additional assistance will be particularly helpful to establishments that offer accommodations.
At the same time, Kéroul revealed the 18 projects that have received financial assistance so far.

Since the launch in November 2017, over 90 applications have been received. When they were submitted, the maximum grant was $20,000, and a tourism establishment could receive financial support only once under the PAET. Further to the Ministry’s announcement, an establishment can submit an application with a proposal for a new project in order to receive the amount remaining of the $50,000. A project that is already supported by the program and that has received the maximum $20,000 could see the contribution increase to $50,000, provided the proponent submits an application and the project receives a positive assessment.
