Michel Trudel honored at the annual conference of the IATR
Back to the press releases listKéroul congratulates Michel Trudel for the honor he received during the 28th annual conference of the International Association of Transportation Regulators (IATR) held in Montreal from September 27 to 30.
Michel Trudel was the first president of the North American Transportation Regulators (NATR) from 1992 to 1994 and the IATR. He was a member of the executive until 2001.
In his welcome address, the President of the IATR, Matthew Daus, expressed his enthusiasm in holding the congress in Montreal in 2015, because "this is where it all started! ". Indeed, it was during the 1992 congress organized in Montreal by Michel Trudel and Richard Boyer, the NATR took its international flight.
The executive of the IATR now include representatives from Britain, Singapore, Australia and of course, the United States and Canada.
After his career at the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Tourism of Québec, Michel Trudel joined Kéroul’s team in 2010, as head of government and international relations. He has been responsible for organizing the World Summit Destinations for All in Montreal in 2014; he is also the Secretary of the Committee on universal accessibility of the Montreal taxi industry created by the Board of the Montreal Taxi Bureau, which is chaired by André Leclerc, Kéroul’s President and CEO.
Kéroul's recommendations regarding the availability of accessible taxis for people with disability have been presented during the 2015 IATR congress.
Nonprofit organization established in 1979, Kéroul's mission is to increase the accessibility of tourist and cultural facilities for people with physical disabilities, who represent over 15% of the population. A key consultant of the Ministry of Tourism Accessibility, initiator of The Accessible Road and the first World Summit Destinations for All, Kéroul is working with private and public sectors.
